Moon Garden: Our First Card Game!
When the opportunity arose early this year for me to jump head-first into Golden Light Games (still known as Golden Light Dice at the time), part of the deal was that I would get to continue pursuing my passion for making games. Now, after many rounds of revisions and much effort spent ensuring the game fits well among our other offerings, that deal has finally come to fruition. It’s my pleasure to introduce to you the first (hopefully of many!) Golden Light Game: Moon Garden.
Here’s the quick details. Moon Garden is a quick 3-6 player card game that’s great for all ages and levels of competitiveness. Gameplay is as simple as choosing one of three available cards, replacing it, and passing to the next player. Once you have three cards with the same color of sprite on them, you’ll successfully guide those sprites home, along with any others of that color your opponents may be holding! There’s a little more to it than that, but we’ll leave the rest for a full gameplay overview in the future. I’m also hoping to find time to write up a brief design diary detailing the journey this game has taken, so check back soon for that as well.
Moon Garden is currently in production, and we’re aiming to have it in-house by early October—just in time for Halloween! What better time of year to play a game about cute little spirits?
